Venkat Ayalur is a Karnatic vocal musician based in Bangalore. He hails from a family of music connoisseurs from Palakkad. He was exposed to the Karnatic music from an early age. He participated and won recognitions in many events in his school and college years – in both light and semi-classical music. His started his formal training in music in Mumbai under the guidance of Senior Vidwan Sri. Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar (who had trained under Sri Neelakanda Bhagavathar and Sri. Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer).  Even as he took up a career as an IT Professional, as a young artist, he had participated in musical events in some of the Sabhas in Mumbai. 

He paused his learning for several years while pursuing his IT career that required relocating to different places. On his return to Bangalore, he continued his musical pursuit in full earnest by taking up advanced training under the able guidance of Senior Vidwan Sri H Ramachandra Rao, a doyen of music renowned for his chaste classical traditions. Sri Rao is a disciple of Veena maestro Sri. Subbaraya Sastri, and Sri Anoor Suryanarayana. He trained under Sri Ramachandra Rao for over a decade; and has made his mark a performing artist. His rigorous training under Sri Rao has been a critical factor in his evolution as a musician. He is now pursuing his musical journey actively as a performing artist and teacher. 

Venkat Ayalur’s performances have been well received and appreciated by the audience. His concerts are marked by strict adherence to classicism and enhanced melodic elements. He focusses on the lyrics and brings out the beauty of Raga thru his alapanas and Krithi renditions. A special highlight that has been appreciated by the audience is his concert planning – selection and sequencing of Krithis – that provides a balanced and wholesome listening experience.
